Francesca Gasparini is an associate professor at the University of Milano Bicocca (Italy) at the Department of Computer Science. She is head of the Multimedia Signal Processing Laboratory.
She took her degree in Nuclear Engineering at the Polytechnic of Milan in 1997 and her Ph.D in Science and Technology in Nuclear Power Plants at the Polytechnic of Milan in 2000.
Her research activity is concentrated mainly in image, audio and video processing (more generally multimedia signals), and in the analysis of the perception of these signals when used as stimuli in psychophysical experiments. She is particularly interested in processing and analysis of neurophysiological data, as well as psychophysical ones, using machine learning techniques, genetic programming and optimization algorithms. |
